States Regulations
provide for various levels of regulatory reporting and often
require prescriptive detail to be provided for design and control
of storage and handling facilities, in particular Major Hazard
Facilities.
Note: States
Regulations may sometimes modify the definitions in the
ADGC or include substances such as Class C1 C2 (diesel fuel,
oil and grease) for specific attention.
It is very important
that States Regulations be consulted to identify regulatory
obligations when dangerous goods quantities exceed certain amounts
that are clearly specified in tables within those Regulations.
It is also important
to note that the Regulating Body varies from State to State.
In some States
this regulatory obligation includes agreement on emergency planning
with Fire and other Authorities, for example, the Environmental
Protection Agencies. This is particularly so for Major Hazard
Facilities.
